New bills Issued in Japan!

From 3rd July 2024, three types of new notes including 1000Yen-note, 5000Yen-note and 10000Yen-note are issued in Japan, with new designs and technologies to prevent the production of counterfeit money.

Mr Shibasaburo Kitazato, known as the "father of modern Japanese medicine", famous for the invention of treatment to Tetanus, is printed on the new 1000Yen-note. Ms Umeko Tsuda, who dedicated her life in promoting female education and the social position of female, is printed on the new 5000Yen-note in memorial of her contribution. Mr Eiichi Shibusawa, who gave contribution to the establishment of as many as 500 corporations and known as the "father of Japanese capitalism", has his portrait printed on the new 10000Yen-note.

Interestingly, there is rumor saying that Mr Eiichi Shibusawa was addicted to playing in Yoshiwara. He first visited Yoshiwara when he was 23 after the birth of his daughter with his wife, while worried by people around, he insisted that "this is safe because womanizer and adultery are two different things" and spent a huge amount of money in Yoshiwara.
